Galicia Ventures at the World Agri-Tech South America Summit 2024 in São Paulo

Sebastián Spena and Mercedes Fiuri represented Galicia Ventures at the World Agri-Tech South America Summit 2024. The fifth edition of this important AgriTech event was held in São Paulo and brought together companies, startups, and investors from the region.

The highlights of the summit were the enriching meetings, connections, encounters, and parallel events with key players in the industry. We not only participated in interactive panels, but also had the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas with funds, startups, and other corporations in the region.

• We attended the event organized by the Argentine Consulate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which brought together Argentine companies and entrepreneurs in São Paulo.
• We participated in the Cubo Itaú cocktail and met with Marcella Falcão and Pedro Luiz Rego, who, along with José F. Dominguez from SiloReal, welcomed us on a visit to Cubo’s facilities.
• We shared a dinner with leaders from Simma Capital and Sancor Seguros Ventures, exchanging experiences and opportunities.
• We attended The Yield Lab LATAM Investor Day, where we discussed portfolio updates and trends, followed by a warm meal with other LPs and regional founders.
• We were invited by The Yield Lab to visit the Parque de Inovação Tecnológica PIT São José dos Campos, an event where geospatial data and the agritech ecosystem converge.
• With two days of interesting sessions and panels on investments, partnerships, and new technologies that are driving the agricultural sector, the World AgriTech Summit was an excellent opportunity to meet startups, exchange ideas, and connect with other venture capital and corporate venture funds in the region.

We are pleased to have participated in these key networking events, as Brazil, with one of the largest and most vibrant innovation ecosystems in Latin America, stands out as a strategic hub for venture capital and corporate venture funds.
