Open innovation: a concrete example of transformative impact

A new feature in the Galicia app now allows users to send money abroad, offering a simpler and more efficient way to manage international transfers. Behind this solution lies the joint effort of the fintech Remitee, the Retail Banking team at Banco Galicia, and Galicia Ventures, which supported this integration from the very beginning.
Since our initial investment in Remitee, we’ve closely followed their evolution—working to bridge their value proposition with the real, day-to-day needs of Grupo Galicia. In this case, that meant aligning multiple teams across the bank to ensure that a technology born in the startup ecosystem could be seamlessly embedded into the bank’s core digital experience.
The result is a fast, secure, and accessible way to send money internationally. But more than that, it stands as a clear example of how open innovation can transform processes, enhance the customer experience, and create tangible value for the business. At Galicia Ventures, we don’t just invest—we support, connect, and co-create. We understand the needs of both the corporation and the startup, and we know how to turn that understanding into impactful solutions.
This collaboration between Remitee and the bank’s internal teams proves that it’s possible to integrate external capabilities into the core of a large organization—efficiently, collaboratively, and always with the end customer in mind.
We’re especially grateful to the Retail Banking team, and we want to recognize the commitment of Juan Agustín Núñez, Germán Ghisoni, David Gentile, and Nicolás Karbiner, whose contributions were key to bringing this project to life.
