Galicia Ventures at South Summit Brazil 2025: Building Connections in LATAM’s VC Ecosystem

South Summit Brazil once again brought together key players from the entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem in Porto Alegre! At Galicia Ventures, we actively participated throughout the three days, connecting with colleagues, entrepreneurs, funds, and corporations from across Latin America.

We took part in numerous meetings, encounters, and side events that—as is often the case at these gatherings—happened both within and outside of the official agenda.

We kicked off with a wonderful dinner and reception hosted by Norte Ventures and Cubo Itaú during the “GP & LP Dinner,” alongside Miguel Armaza, Marcella Falcão, Luca Creppe, and Pedro Sorrentino. A special shoutout to Gustavo Ahrends and Marcella Falcão for the invitation.

The following day, in addition to enjoying the event’s inspiring talks and meeting many entrepreneurs, we attended the Super Founders gathering organized by Beacon Founders and Endeavor. This event brought together some of the most promising players in LATAM’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Many thanks to the sponsors: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Zendesk, Asaas, Riverwood Capital, NXTP Ventures, Flourish Ventures, and Latitud.

On the final day, we wrapped up with two standout moments:

The first LP Forum organized by South Summit, held at the beautiful Palácio do Comércio, where Lorenzo Padoin Custódio and Liz Fleming led a discussion on the present and future of venture capital in Latin America. Valuable contributions came from a range of institutional and corporate investors. We listened to Igor Piquet from Endeavor Catalyst, followed by a family office panel moderated by Liz Fleming featuring Ramiro Fernandes (Maromar Investimentos), Santiago Tamayo (Santa Maria Investment Group), and Salvador Said (30N Ventures). The forum concluded with a session on “The VC Industry of Tomorrow in Latin America,” moderated by Thomas Bittar from Indicator Capital.

Our Managing Director, Sebastián Spena, was also invited to speak on the panel “The Strategic Edge: How CVCs Add Value Beyond Capital.” Alongside Eduardo Sperling, Gustavo Cavenaghi, and Phillip Trauer, they shared insights on the strategic contributions corporate venture capital funds can make beyond just investment.

Many thanks to the South Summit team and sponsors for the flawless organization—and, of course, to all the colleagues, investors, and entrepreneurs with whom we shared ideas, experiences, and a common vision for the future.
